Our parents are the ones that took care of us when we were younger. Now as our parents are aging we should be returning the favor. Your mom, dad or grandparents may be struggling with taking care of their feet but may not think you have the time to help them. At the Center for Ankle and Foot Care we specialize in taking care of your loved one’s foot health. Something as simple as cutting their toenails or taking care of an irritating callus may be a very difficult task for your mom or dad. Or they may be having foot pain that could be treated so they can walk pain free.

Your Foot Health is Important
Some older people wait until they have a bigger problem like an infected ingrown toenail or an infected callus or open wound on the foot to come into the office. One of the deterrents for an older person not making an appointment is cost. They feel like spending $60 to $75 on treating their feet is too expensive. If your loved one is diabetic, often time these services are covered. But if they are not diabetic, it usually is not covered by insurance. If they only need their toenails trimmed, our office provides this service for a cost of $60. If they have calluses and need toenails trimmed it is a cost of $75. The doctor is the person who performs this service, not a tech, but the doctor. Your mom or dad gets to know our doctors over time and is treated like family by our doctors and staff.
This service of foot care is performed about 4 times a year to prevent problems from occurring. We have many patients that come in more often like 5 or 6 times a year because they feel their nails grow a little quicker and need the service provided more often than 4 times in one year. The cost for this service to be performed by a doctor with sterilized medical tools is cheaper than getting their hair done at salon. This also keeps them out of the nail salon where they can develop issues from instruments or files that may not be properly sterilized.
