About our
Doctors Drs. Michele McGowan and
Tim Henne have been practicing in Clermont since 2002. They expanded their practice to serve more of Lake county over
the last two years. Both doctors are available at either the Clermont or Tavares locations. Drs. McGowan and Henne are the premier full time foot and ankle specialists
dedicated to serving the community of Lake county. The doctors of the Center For Ankle & Foot Care have been proud
and honored to grow with the cities of Clermont and Tavares. Drs. Henne & McGowan are specialized foot and ankle surgeons
who pride themselves on treating disorders of the foot and ankle and the people attached to them. Dr. McGowan attended the Pennsylvania State
University in State College, PA and Dr Henne graduated from Saint Mary's College, Minnesota. Both Dr. Henne
and Dr. McGowan were then accepted into Des Moines Medical University where they met and completed their doctoral training
in podiatry. After getting married, Dr. McGowan and Dr. Henne graduated
from a Foot, Ankle & Lower Leg Surgical Residency program at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Drs. Henne & McGowan started the Center for Ankle
and Foot Care family in 2002 and it has been a part of the Clermont landscape ever since. They have expanded the practice family
with fantastic staff members over the last nine years and their own family with three amazing children. The doctors and staff
are hardworking and go the extra mile for the patients. Dr. McGowan
and Dr. Henne are both Fellows of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS), joining an elite group of physicians.
The ACFAS reserves Fellow membership status for foot and ankle surgeons who earn board certification from the American Board
of Podiatric Surgery. The
doctors of the Center for Ankle & Foot Care are qualified to provide
comprehensive medical and surgical care for a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions including common to complex disorders
and injuries that affect people of all ages. Dr.
McGowan believes in prevention in the Diabetic foot. “The foot and ankle manifestations of this disease are serious
and limb/life threatening and their prevention and recognition are paramount to keeping the diabetic patient ulcer and amputation
free. Often the initial manifestations of diabetes are expressed as pathology in the foot.” Dr. McGowan and Dr. Henne treat
infected ulcers, chronic slow healing wounds and many other problems of the diabetic foot. Additionally, palliative care and
periodic screening can be performed at the Center for Ankle & Foot Care to prevent such complications. If you are experiencing
